Selection of FCP 2018 participants has begun

The selection process for FCP 2018 has begun. All participant countries have conducted the preliminary interviews. The final selection will be made in a few weeks time.

We received numerous great applications and in total the programme received over 1 700 applications! We would like to thank all applicants.

Application period for the 2018 ThisisFINLAND Foreign Correspondents’ Programme has ended

Each participating embassy will now review the applications. The three best applicants will be interviewed by the embassy in person, or if this is not possible due to long distances etc., via phone or Skype. The applicants will be contacted by Friday, April 20^th 2018. Final selection will be confirmed by the end of May 2018.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has administrated thisisFINLAND Foreign Correspondents’ Programme (FCP) since 1990.The programme is targeted at young international journalists.

In 2022, thisisFINLAND Foreign Correspondents’ Programme will be organized in June. Information on future FCPs will be published on this blog.

The programme provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about Finland, Finnish society and the Finnish way of life. It includes briefings on various subjects, meetings with Finnish professionals and visits to business enterprises, cultural sites and institutions.

In this blog, the participants report on their experiences in Finland. The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
